Documents Required & Helpful Tips

Documents to be sent and tips which will enable me to help you optimally

I will need copies of:

  1. the contract/s with the company in question
  2. any supporting documentation such as brochures, leaflets, promotional material etc.
  3. current and previous statements of account or portfolios, amounts invested and so on.
  4. any letters, emails and other correspondence which may be relevant to the case.
  5. anything else that could be of any use! You would be surprised what traps firms set for themselves in seemingly innocent correspondence and documents.

Tips to help me help you:

  1. Try and recall any conversations which you have had with representatives from the company and consider any statements which you or they made which:
    • resulted in your signing the contract
    • you feel were misleading.
  2. Also, consider whether there were any other reasons why you believe the firm (rather than, for example, the stock market itself) was responsible for losses incurred or your dissatisfaction.
  3. Compile a list of such issues and statements. Take your time! It may take you several days or more, to recall all the relevant facts, statements and defences to support your case. However, citing them in the claim can make all the difference to its power and credibility and thus to the odds of obtaining full and fair compensation.
