Linguistic Editing - academic and copy editing
Over the last 20 years, I have specialized in editing academic manuscripts. I offer an exceptionally comprehensive, highly professional service, mainly of business and economics texts, but also in other social sciences.
My own extensive research and teaching career provides an ideal basis for this work, and so too does my journalist work over the years. My understanding of the English language, my vocabulary and insights into idiom and correct usage are at the highest level.
I ensure that each sentence is both linguistically correct as well as clear and precise. I provide a text which is optimally formulated in terms of sentence construction, word order and word selection. Where appropriate, I draw the attention of the authors to any issues I think they should clarify, elaborate or rethink. I have a reputation for reliability and meeting deadlines.
I also translate from German to English.
My basic offer: You send me your article, preferably in a Word file (or a PDF) and I edit it comprehensively so that every sentence is clear and correctly formulaed, and the paper reads well. Plus I will provide some general advice in the article and in a covering email. The general cost of my services is €85-100 per hour. I also offer a rate per word. Either way, a standard 6000-word article costs about €300.00, with no additional charges. Payment is normally by bank transfer or PayPal.
